New Equpiment

Last year, my incredibly generous wife gave me a new Nikon D90. The first DSLR camera I have ever owned. We came back from our trip to China with a ton of great pictures, though I still have a lot to learn about how to use the camera, and what accessories I should consider to maximize the abilities of this fancy device.

I've just now started looking into software to manage and edit these photos, and I think I've settled on Adobe Lightroom 3. I've played around with it a bit, and it seems quite powerful, though, just like the camera, it has a lot of complexities and features that I will need to learn to take advantage of.

A New Start

I'm hitting the reset button, and going to try to starting keeping a better blog. I won't be including to many personal experiences, but want someplace to share the technical information I have learned, both in my work (as a java developer), and in my hobbies (a newbie digital photographer, a lapsed cyclist).
